Tonight Oak Ridge High will honor 10 wrestlers on Senior Night, the team’s last home dual meet of the season. Joey Pacific, Jeremy Carmen, Kyle West, Kyle Sundby, Ben Lowry, Nick Rohrer, Desmond Cooke, Kavon Tillotson, Jared Levenson and Lukas Wilmore will all be competing at the school for the final time. “Most of these guys have been together from a long time, wrestling up through middle school,” Oak Ridge coach Rocco Cardinale said. “They’ve had some success and I hope they can all finish strong this season.” Oak Ridge plays host to Cordova on Wednesday at 6 p.m. If the Trojans win, they’ll compete in Saturday’s Sac-Joaquin Section team dual championships at Rosemont High. While Oak Ridge will be attempting to defend their title from a year ago, Ponderosa and Del Oro are likely the favorites. “I don’t know who our first opponent will be, but assuming we win we’d probably have Del Oro next,” Cardinale said. “We’ve been looking at them and seeing how we match up. They beat us earlier in the year at the Nighthawk Duals. It’s unfortunate we’re probably going to be without Nick and we’re still not sure about Josh Dawson. We’re going to try to devise the best lineup we can and still fill some of the holes we have.” Oak Ridge improved to 4-1 in the Sierra Valley Conference with a 42-26 win over Union Mine on Wednesday. Winning matches for the Trojans were Cameron Miller, Pacific, Greg Barrier, Vince Waldhauser, Cooke, Wilmore, Matt Coffrini and Tillotson.
