Oak Ridge track and field athletes brought home 65 medals from the Capital Classic Relays held Saturday at Elk Grove High.
Medals were awarded for the top-three finishers in each event and despite the cold, windy weather, Oak Ridge athletes turned in an outstanding performance in earning 65 medals.
First-place finishers included Greg Smolarski (varsity boys pole vault, 12'0"), Austin Laut (Frosh/Soph boys pole vault 10'6"), Ashley Dean (varsity girls pole vault 8'6"), Jaimi Gotro (Frosh/Soph girls pole vault 7'0"), Jaimi Gotro (Frosh/Soph girls 100-meter hurdles 19.28), Mikhayla Polivka (Frosh/Soph girls 1600-meter run 6:04.78) and Kyle Kauffman (Frosh/Soph boys 1600-meter run 5:09.05).
