Time to register for food baskets

The Food Bank of El Dorado County will offer holiday food baskets to low-income families in need of assistance with putting a Christmas meal on their tables. In order to qualify for a food basket, individuals need to sign up at one of the registration dates listed below. Food basket applicants are asked to bring proof of residency with them, such as a driver’s license or piece of mail. Registration dates are as follows: El Dorado Hills: Rolling Hills Church, 800 White Rock Road, El Dorado Hills, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-noon Placerville: Green Valley Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Road, Placerville, Saturday, Dec. 12, 8-noon Camino/Pollock Pines: Camino SDA, 3520 Carson Road, Camino, Wednesday, Dec. 9, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cameron Park: Light of the Hills Lutheran Church, 3100 Rodeo rd, Cameron Park, Tuesday Dec. 1, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Somerset/Mt. Aukum: Pioneer Bible Church, 6851 Mt Aukum Road, Somerset, Friday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Georgetown/Garden Valley: House of Prayer, 7901 Highway 193, Garden Valley, Wednesday, Dec. 9, 3-5:30 p.m. Food baskets will be distributed on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. Homebound residents in need of assistance can contact the Food Bank at (530) 621-9950 for information on how to register and receive a holiday basket.
