The first three months for Three Stages were a whirlwind of productions, but that was only a taste of things to come. On Friday, the region’s newest performing and visual arts center unveiled their first full season of shows. Three Stage Executive Director Dave Pier said he’s excited about the lineup. “We’re bursting at the seams,” he said. “There’s so much going on. Once we get going, there isn’t an open weekend for months.” He said while many enjoyed stars such as Roseanne Cash and Hal Holbrook’s “Mark Twain Tonight” during the mini-season, there are many more big names coming. “Some of the larger shows are ‘Stomp’ … and Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot,’ the national tour of the Broadway show,” Pier said. “Our first comedian is Dana Carvey (and) later we have Jonathan Winters.” Folsom is easily connected with the late singer Johnny Cash. His daughter performed at Three Stages earlier this year. Now, one of his former Highwaymen bandmates, Kris Kristofferson, will also grace the center’s stage on Monday, Oct. 3. He said the center was well received by the region at large with more than 40,000 passing through the doors during the first three months with more than $1 million in ticket sales. “I was really pleased with the reception,” he said. “We really got feedback that our prices were reasonable. Public sales for the new shows start at 1 minute past midnight early Saturday morning (online at threestages.net).” Ticket sales may be purchased in person at the box office starting at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1. “We have a lot of community partners coming in,” Pier said. “We’re clearly on the map for the regional arts organizations.” While he’s proud of the season’s lineup, he’s not resting. “We’re looking at a pretty full season,” he said. “We’re already starting to plan for the 2012-2013 season.” The new season kicks off with “In the Mood.” “It’s a show that’s been developed over 17 years,” Pier said.
