Keaton Subjeck had a busy wrestling weekend May 27-29. Subjeck, who just finished his sophomore year at Oak Ridge, placed third in the 18-and-under division at the Western States Championship, losing only to Juan Alvarado, a state champion wrestler from Florida. Subjeck also competed in the America’s Cup Championship, which was All-Star Dual Meet Tournament with teams from Michigan, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, Oregon and several teams from California full of state champions and state medal winners. The Sacramento-area team, the Sac-Joaquin Gold team, placed 10th in the tournament. Subjeck only lost one match during the tournament to a state champion from Michigan. Another local wrestler, Kaden West, also competed in the 10-and-under division at the Western State Championships and he placed fourth in his weight class. Both events were held at Clovis High School. Benjamin West and Kyle West served as coaches.
