Just three weeks after of a 6-3 win over St. Francs, Oak Ridge High’s tennis team had the tables turned on Tuesday, as the Troubadours returned the favor with a 6-3 victory. Oak Ridge won a pair of hotly-contested three-set matches in singles play, along with another in doubles, but the Troubadours were the better team on this day. “We took a tough loss against St. Francis which left us tied for first with 6-1 records,” Oak Ridge coach Ralph Clark said. “We certainly had some opportunities with several close matches, but couldn’t find a way to pull it off.” Tori Trylovich and Teja Chalmcherla pulled off three-set wins for the Lady Trojans, Trylovich beating Jessica Josiah 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Chalmcherla defeating Avery Spector 1-6, 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3. Rachael Librach looked good with a 7-6 win in the second set at No. 2 singles, but lost 6-0 in the first set and 6-1 in the third to Annie Sompayrac. Hannah Crookham was locked in a battle with Kendall Spector at No. 4 singles, fighting to the bitter end in a 6-4, 6-4 loss. Miranda Miller and Gabby Zeagler at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, played well in the first set, but were easily beaten in the second. Miller lost 7-6, 6-1 to Jane Sadler, while Zeagler fell 7-5, 6-0 to Pernett Powar. The No. 2 doubles team of Ashlee Gonzales and Jessica Williams picked up a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 win over Anna Kropf and Eden Elliott, but the other two doubles teams weren’t as fortunate. Emily Abraham and Heather Dunham dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 1, while Sydney Newman and Megan Engle lost 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3. Oak Ridge plays host to Folsom today at Broadstone beginning at 3:45 p.m.
