Six EDH wrestlers place at state tournament

Six wrestlers from the El Dorado Hills Wrestling Club placed at the CAUSA KIDS Folkstyle State Wrestling tournament.

Justin Ramos led the way with a third-place finish. Scotty Moore and Kaden West placed fourth, Jackson Ramos and Mikey Mello finished sixth, while Johnny Fowler ended up eight. Ten other EDH wrestlers competed in the tournament, but did not place.

Justin Ramos, wrestling in the Novice 130 division, lost his first match before winning three straight, all by pin, to place third.

Scotty Moore had a busy tournament in the Intermediate 60-pound division, winning seven of nine matches to place fourth. Moore won his first two matches before losing in the third round. Moore then won five straight matches before losing his final match to place fourth.

In the Novice 120 division, Kaden West won his first two matches before dropping to the consolation bracket, where he won his first match and then lost his final match to place fourth.

Jackson Ramos splits his six matches in the Bantam 70-pound division to place sixth. Ramos won his first match before being knocked down to the consolations. He then won two in a row before losing twice.

Mikey Mello opened the tournament with two straight wins before suffering his first loss in the 102-pound weight class. He won two matches in consolations before losing two to place sixth.

Also competing in the tournament with the number of wins following their names were Justin Lamson (3), Jack Likins (3), Ricky Eymann (3), Bobby Mello (3), Jackson Redhair (2), Christian Pebley (1), Shaiden Carr (1), Zane Roeder (0), Kade Roeder (0) and Maxwell McCarver (0).
