Reward offered in Folsom City Council campaign sign thefts

-A +A
FOLSOM, CA - One week after placing his campaign signs throughout the City of Folsom for the upcoming November election, City Councilman Jeff Starsky reports 14 of his signs have been stolen. Starsky is seeking re-election. There are two seats up for election on the Folsom City Council, the other held by Ernie Sheldon. There is also one challenger, Roger Gaylord. “It’s terrible, we have never had this problem in the past 19 years, but this year, campaign signs are being stolen everywhere. It is really disappointing that someone would resort to these tactics. We do have some cameras in the area so we are hoping we may have gotten some footage of the perpetrators,” Starsky said. The Folsom Police Department is currently investigating the crimes. The Starsky for Folsom City Council campaign is offering a reward of $1,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of a suspect. The signs were stolen on Thursday, Sept. 13, from various locations along Iron Point Road, East Bidwell Street and Broadstone Parkway. The cumulative loss is estimated at $900. The Starsky Campaign and the Folsom Police Department encourages anyone with information about these thefts to contact the Folsom Police Department or Jeff Starsky at jstarsky@comcast.net. ~ Staff report
