Six local residents brought home medals from the 33rd annual Nevada Police and Fire Games held Aug. 11-15 in Las Vegas. These Olympic-style games draw police, fire, corrections and public safety officers from all parts of the nation. The officers compete in sporting events ranging from archery, basketball, bowling, darts, boxing, cycling, shooting events, softball, track and field and many others. Representing Folsom State Prison included Pino Ramacher (Ret.)Sergeant, Teresa Ramacher, Correctional Officer Kurt Thomas, Monica Loos, Correctional Officer L.E. Davis and Correctional Sergeant Ella Davis. Pino Ramacher earned a bronze medal in darts and also competed in bowling. Teresa Ramacher won the silver medal in the 'A' division womens doubles bowling event with Davis and took the bronze in darts cricket doubles along with Loos. Ramacher and Loos became the first female doubles partners in the 33-year history of the games to medal in darts. Thomas competed in darts, while Davis competed in bowling.
