The El Dorado Hills Rebels 16-and-under baseball team won a tournament over the weekend at Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom with a great come-from-behind victory over a tough Woodland Thunder team. The Rebels scored four runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game, highlighted by a double by Alex FaGalde, an RBI single by Sean O'Donnell, a bases-loaded walk by Alec DeWatteville and a two-run double by Matt Howard. In the eighth inning, Mason Watkins executed a perfect sacrifice bunt and FaGalde drove in Kevin Kern with the winning run. Jared Ross pitched the first four innings and FaGalde threw the last four innings against a tough Woodland lineup. Zach Mahon provided much of the offense in the tournament with a home run and several extra base hits. Mahon and Jason Ross also pitched complete games earlier in the tournament. Reid Edlund, Nick Rochin, Alex Fitchett also contributed to the team's success over the weekend. The tournament consisted of teams from Rocklin, Reno, Woodland and El Dorado Hills. It was the Rebels' second tournament championship over the summer.
