The El Dorado County Office of Economic Development is partnering with the Pollock Pines/Camino Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce on a May 3 Business Walk for the Pollock Pines and Camino communities.
The goal of the walk is to take a pulse of businesses in the commercial areas by asking a few simple questions: How is business? What do you like about doing business in the area? What needs to be done to make it even better?
“We have held a number of business walks throughout the county,” said Megan Arevalo from the county economic development office, “but it has been three years since we’ve done one in Pollock Pines. “There is no better way to understand the business climate than taking time to meet business owners face to face.”
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a pre-walk meeting to get the volunteers organized and prepared to meet with the local business community. The business walk itself will occur from 9:30 a.m. to noon and will cover portions of Sly Park Road, Pony Express Trail and Carson Road. At the conclusion of the walk, there will be a post-walk gathering and debriefing from noon-1 p.m. The pre and post-walk meeting gathering places will be Room 3 of the Pollock Pines Camino Community Center located at 2675 Sanders Drive in Pollock Pines.
Not only will the Pollock Pines Camino Chamber of Commerce be visiting businesses in person, but they will also be doing phone outreach to home based businesses. Any business in the Pollock Pines and Camino communities that is not visited or called by May 3 but would like to provide input or participate may contact the Chamber of Commerce Business Center by May 8.
