Chris Paulson dominated Bomber racing Saturday night at All American Speedway but came up just short of a sweep when he finished third in the second of twin 35-lap main events.

Paulson topped qualifying at 16.044 seconds around the one-third-mile. Paulson and Erick Ray won heat races, and Paulson also took the checkered flag in the dash.

He took the lead on the second lap in the opening feature and finished .457 of a second in front of David Thompson at the checkered flag. Joe Rhodes was third in the 18-car field.

Paulson never led in the second main. Thompson had a margin of victory of .359 of a second over Eric Bocksberger. Thompson took the lead from Bocksberger on lap 20 after Bocksberger led the previous 18 laps.

Richard Poppert Jr. led wire to wire in winning the 35-lap Street Stock main by .176 of a second over Dave Silva.

Matt Camp was the top qualifier at 15.223, ahead of Poppert at 15.267. Lonnie Leonard and Mark Blanton won heats, and Kevin Owens won the dash.

Scott takes third in big Stockton race

Two-time reigning All American Speedway Late Model champion Matt Scott finished third in the annual Firecracker 150 on Saturday night at Stockton 99 Speedway.

Scott led until he was passed by eventual winner Jeff Belletto. It was the first Firecracker victory for Jeff Belletto and the seventh for his racing family. Father Harry Belletto has won four Firecrackers and brother Steve Belletto two.

Chris Scribner of Loomis, who’s third in Late Model points at All American Speedway, finished third in the Firecracker.
