A Pollock Pines man, wanted in connection with a double homicide, is now behind bars at the El Dorado County Jail. Gary Goins, 58, is suspected in the murder of his brother and sister-in-law in Josephine County, Ore. Susan Goins, 53, was found dead Oct. 24 in the driveway of her Grants Pass, Ore. home with a gunshot wound to the head, according to a Josephine County Sheriff’s Office press release. Her 63-year-old husband, Dennis R. Goins, was found inside the home, also with a gunshot wound to the head, officials said. Josephine County officials identified Gary Goins as the shooting suspect and believed he resided in El Dorado County. Local law enforcement responded to Goins’ home Oct. 26 in the 5100 block of Sierra Springs Drive in an attempt to track down Goins. “Deputies checked the home, but did not locate Goins,” said Lt. Brian Golmitz of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s office. Goins was located at the Knot Hole gas station on Sly Park Road in Pollock Pines. He was taken into custody without incident. He remains in custody in El Dorado County Jail, held without bail.
