Oak Ridge High’s varsity girls’ water polo team improved to 7-4 on the season with an 18-5 win over El Camino on Wednesday. Annie Randolph and Kristie Kaiser both scored four goals in the match to lead the way, while Haley Godwin netted three. Kaiser scored three of her goals in the third period, while Randolph and Godwin scored twice, as the Lady Trojans put together a big third period with seven goals. Briana Buenzli added two games in the win, while Rainie Bullock, Vanessa Moestopo, Megan Lee, Ashley Harbour and Ashley Adams also scored in the win. “I was happy with our effort considering we had two starters out sick,” Oak Ridge coach Don McCormick said. “We have only had two games all year that we had all the starters healthy, which says a lot about our depth.” The varsity boys’ team came away with a 10-3 victory to improve to 5-8 on the season. Statistics from this match have yet to be reported to the Telegraph. Head coach Patrick Foster is very pleased with the progress of the team, considering he only has three senior starters. “They have continually shown improvement and will have a good chance at qualifying for sections this year,” McCormick added. The varsity girls’ team participates in the Woodcreek Invitational today and Saturday.
