Oak Ridge High’s tennis team easily defeated Sheldon 7-2 on Tuesday, as they improved to 8-1 in the Delta River League.
A win today against Ponderosa will give the Lady Trojans a share of the league crown with St. Francis, whom they play Monday to determine the league’s top-seed in the section playoffs.
The highlight of the match for the Lady Trojans was the performance of Kambria Porter and Jordan Bui. In their first varsity match, the No. 3 doubles team picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
The No. 2 doubles team of Haesoo Kim and Megan Engle also came away with a victory, winning 6-1, 6-4.
Oak Ridge won five matches in singles play as well and did so easily. Rachel Librach (6-1, 6-2), Hannah Crookham (6-2, 6-3), Miranda Miller (6-0, 6-0), Gabby Zeagler (6-0, 6-2) and Lauren Roppolo (6-3, 6-0) came away with wins.
