Oak Ridge High’s tennis team opened the postseason with a 7-2 win over Napa on Nov. 1. The Lady Trojans face Davis at 2 p.m. Monday with the winner advancing to the Division I semifinals on Wednesday. In the win over Napa, depth was the key, as the Lady Trojans won the last three singles matches and all three doubles, to go along with Julia Dunnigan’s win at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4. Rachel Librach picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4, while Lauren Roppolo and Hannah Crookham also won easily at No. 5 and No. 6, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively. Miranda Miller and Teja Chalamcherla earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Alexis Hill and Gabby Zeagler won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2, while Tia Nguyen and Meghan Schoener won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3. Tori Trylovich dropped a competitive match at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, while Julia Lund fell at No. 3, 6-1, 6-4. “There were a few competitive matches at the top of the lineup, but we had a lot more depth,” Oak Ridge coach Ralph Clark said. The Lady Trojans will look to avenge a 9-0 loss suffered at the hands of the Blue Devils on Sept. 6.
