Oak Ridge had no trouble with Merced yesterday in the first-round of the Sac-Joaquin Section tennis playoffs. The Lady Trojans won eight of the nine matches, breezing to an 8-1 win. The team advances to the second-round on Monday, where they will travel to Stockton to face St. Mary’s. “They have a couple very solid players at the top,” Oak Ridge coach Ralph Clark said. “We’ll need to have everyone clicking to get through the next round.” Against Merced Oak Ridge swept the singles matches in straight sets. Tori Trylovich (6-2, 6-2), Katrina Lund (6-0, 6-4), Victoria Waugh (6-2, 6-4), Julia Lund (6-2, 6-1), Julia Dunnigan (6-3, 6-1) and Kaitlin Corell (6-2, 6-0) walked off the court winners. Lauren Roppolo and Alexa Hill earned a three-set win at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0, while Rachel Librach and Morgan Dial won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
