Oak Ridge lacrosse team now 9-2 on season

After losing by six goals to St. Francis earlier in the week, Oak Ridge High’s lacrosse team rebounded with a pair of wins on Saturday in Monterey. The Lady Trojans, now 9-2 on the season, whipped R.L. Stevenson, 12-6 to start the day. Oak Ridge jumped out to an early lead and never were in any danger of losing. Cassie Aroyan, Danielle Trapani and Kristina Reyes all scored three goals, while Kaleigh Durket scored twice and Courtney McKay added one goal. Julia Holton made 12 saves in goal. Oak Ridge led 5-3 at the half against Santa Catalina, before a big second half propelled them to a 13-3 win. Reyes and Durket both tallied three goals, while Leanna Aroyan scored twice. Ashley Shaeffer, Courtney McKay, Cassie Aroyan, Natalie Dawson, and Trapani also scored, while Holton made 10 saves in goal. The showdown between Oak Ridge and St. Francis was all Troubadours on April 8, as Oak Ridge fell behind 4-0 on its way to a 13-6 defeat. Leanne Aroyan and Blair Nalewaja both scored two goals, while Reyes and Cassie Aroyan added one each. Holton made 14 saves in goal for Oak Ridge.
