Jr. Peewee Jr. Trojans 29, Oakmont 0 The Jr. Peewee Trojan football team played a strong, physical game Saturday, shutting out the Oakmont Vikings. Running a balanced offensive attack featuring several long pass completions, the Trojans ran plays up the middle as well as to the outside. A strong offensive line allowed quarterbacks Evan Robinson and Rand Peterson to spread the ball around to players such as Jack Dillard, Brock Sale and Caleb Palmer. Dylan Charles, Nick Giusti, Evan Robinson and Logan Sands scored touchdowns. Matt Amezcua, Saxton Brown, Zack Crozier, Sean Gatson and Hunter Nabers, among others, led the defense. Peewees Jr. Trojans 32, Oakmont 0 Julian Dardano took the first offensive snap of the game and sprinted 70 yards off tackle for a touchdown. From there, the team never locked back en-route to a pasting of the Oakmont Jr. Vikings. The Trojans (4-0) controlled the ball for most of the game, gaining more than 200 yards on the ground, while enjoying support from a resilient defense that held Oakmont (1-3) to just 12 yards on the day. Dardano led the Trojan running game with 148 yards on 13 carries. Jack Slaughter, Tanner Beasy and Haiden Kusserow also contributed big ground yards on the day. In the second quarter, Beasy added the next Trojans score on a 24-yard run, while Dardano followed with another quick strike up the middle for nine yards before halftime. EJ Delwiche added a 1-yard quarterback sneak to round out the Oak Ridge scoring in the third quarter. Beasy made all four two-point after touchdown conversion kicks during the day. The Oak Ridge offensive line dominated the large and stout Oakmont defense throughout the day. Shane Semeit, Dean Brower, Jackson Redhair, Hunter Dempsey, Matt Murphy, Jake Dyer and Jalen Mitchell paced the gritty offensive effort. Noah Jenkins, Redhair, Semeit, Jackson Smith, Peter Cotsirilos, Jack Topping, Nate Kettering, Cole Ramsey, Evan Miranda, Chase Wessling and Colby Anderson led the way on defense. Ramsey and Anderson contributed key second-half interceptions. The Peewee Trojans host Whitney at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Midgets Jr. Trojans 40, Oakmont 0 The Jr. Trojans Midgets put together a convincing win against a very good Oakmont football team.. The final score does not tell the complete story of how physical the game was from start to finish. The Midgets have out-scored their opponents 98-0 in the past three weeks, which represents a great tribute to all 36 young men who represent the program.
