Peewees Jr. Trojans 23, Folsom 0 The Peewees rolled over the defending champion Folsom Jr. Bulldogs 23-0 on Saturday in both team’s SFC league opener at Livermore Park in Folsom. Oak Ridge relied on a tenacious defense and steady, offensive ball control throughout the day to stun the high-powered Folsom team. The Oak Ridge defense forced three interceptions, including two returns for touchdowns, and another by linebacker Noah Jenkins at the goal line. Oak Ridge scored during its first offensive series on Tanner Beasy’s 56-yard run. Beasy added the two-point conversion kick to stake the Trojans to an early 8-0 lead. Trevor Barbosa returned an interception 22 yards for a second quarter score. Beasy’s PAT kick increased the Trojan’s halftime lead to 16-0. Cole Ramsey added a spectacular 70-yard interception catch and return for touchdown mid-way through the fourth quarter to seal the victory. E.J. Delwiche’s 3-yard point-after touchdown run increased Oak Ridge’s lead to 23-0. Jenkins, Sam Sanders, Jack Topping, Jackson Redhair, Chase Wessling, Kase Loso, Ethan Peters, Colby Anderson, Nicholas Norton and Nate Kettering led the strong Trojan defensive showing. Julian Dardano, Jack Slaughter, Haiden Kusserow, Shane Semeit, Matt Murphy, Hunter Dempsey and Matt Grimenstein provided solid support on offense. The Peewee Trojans play next at Folsom Vista on Saturday Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
