Oak Ridge Jr. Trojans Peewees Jr. Trojans 16, Vista 6 The Peewee squad relied on a solid ground game and stout run defense to outlast the Vista Jr. Eagles on Saturday at Livermore Park in Folsom. The Trojans gained 221 yards on the ground, averaging more than seven yards per carry, to wear-down the determined Eagles. Tanner Beasy led the way with 124 yards rushing and Julian Dardano added 76 behind strong Oak Ridge line play. Oak Ridge scored mid-way through the second quarter on Beasy’s 52-yard touchdown run. Beasy added the two-point conversion kick to stake the Trojans to an 8-0 lead. Beasy added a 43-yard touchdown and point after conversion kick in the third quarter to increase the Trojan lead to 16-0. Vista (0-2) answered with a 17-yard touchdown pass late in the quarter to cut the Trojan margin to 16-6. The Trojans (2-0) controlled the ball and relied on key defensive stops throughout the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Jackson Redhair, Hunter Dempsey, Sam Sanders, Shane Semeit, Matt Grimenstein, Jalen Mitchell, Jay Stocks and EJ Delwiche paced the offense, while Noah Jenkins, Sanders, Jack Topping, Jackson Smith, Jake Dyer, Cole Ramsey, Nate Kettering, Jack Slaughter and Matt Hauser led a sturdy Trojan defensive effort, holding the Eagles to minus-three yards rushing on the day.
