Oak Ridge to host incoming freshmen sports information night May 6, sports physical night slated for May 13

Oak Ridge High has two big events coming up in May involving high school athletes who plan to participate on a sports team during the 2013-2014 season.

Monday, May 6 Incoming Freshmen Sports Information Night

Attention all incoming freshmen parents and students interested in participating in sports at Oak Ridge during the 2013-14 school year. On Monday, May 6, parents and students are invited to attend the Incoming Freshmen Sports Information Meeting at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium on at Oak Ridge High School. You will be receiving important information about sports requirements and tryouts for Oak Ridge. There will be breakout sessions for each sport where you can get answers to your questions.

Monday, May 13 Oak Ridge’s Sport Physical Night at El Dorado Physical Therapy

If your Oak Ridge student is planning to participate in Oak Ridge Sports during the 2013-14 school year, they are required to have a medical physical completed. Why not make it easy for yourself, as it’s time for the Oak Ridge Sports Physical Night. A team of local doctors and nurses from the El Dorado Hills area are donating their time to give physicals to Oak Ridge athletes. These physicals are valid during the 2013-2014 school year. A sports participation health record is required each year with a medical doctor’s approval for full participation. This sports participation health record for is available in the Oak Ridge Athletic office.

Oak Ridge Sports Physical Night is Monday, May 13 at El Dorado Physical Therapy located at 907 Embarcadero Way, El Dorado Hills. The cost is $20.

Physical times include: Students with the last names beginning with G through L, 6 p.m., M through S, 6:45 p.m., T through Z, 7:30 p.m. and A through F, 8:15 p.m.

Pick -up your sports participation health form in the athletic office at nutrition break or lunch. Parents must complete and sign your sports participation health record before you can participate in the physical.
