Katrina Lund slid up to No. 1 singles and led Folsom’s Karly Ko 7-6, 3-6, 5-2 before Ko retired. Victoria Waugh, playing at No. 2 singles, struggled to take the first set from Katie Crippen, 7-5, before easily winning the second one, 6-2. Julia Lund and Julia Dunnigan won 6-0, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2, respectively at No. 3 and 4 singles. Alexis Hill also picked up a win at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Folsom’s Ceila Chan won her team’s lone singles match at No. 5, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0, defeating Lauren Roppolo. In doubles action, Tia Nguyen and Rachael Librach came away with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 win at No. 1, while Sydney Newman and Haesoo Kim won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2. Folsom’s Sabrina Monticiello and Angelica Chow pulled through with a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. “Several starters were given the day off to prepare for the upcoming playoffs and today was a big improvement for the younger players,” Oak Ridge coach Ralph Clark said. “They will continue to improve with increased playing time.”
