What we’re working on:  In the wake of the mushroom poisoning deaths of two seniors at an elder care facility in Loomis, Reporter Jon Schultz is working on a story about safely hunting for edible wild mushrooms and what to look for and what to steer clear of.

Reporter Gus Thomson headed out to Dairy Road Friday after hearing complaints from local residents about lengthy road construction work delays that made it difficult getting to and from home. Gus will have a story on what’s going on.

Placer High School football kicks off the second round of the playoffs Friday night and Journal Sports Editor Matthew Kimel will be there live-Tweeting the game and he’ll have full coverage up by midnight.
