For those looking for upscale food with Hispanic and Latin influences, your search is over. Cascada has now opened its doors in El Dorado Hills.

The eatery is one of several owned, or co-owned, by Jose Rodriguez who operates the popular Cascada in Placerville as well as Bricks, also in Placerville and co-owns Los Pinos in Cameron Park. Rodriquez has partnered with Hector Hernandez at the newest establishment.

Eric King, who had worked at the Placerville establishment, is now General Manger of the El Dorado Hills restaurant located at the corner of Green Valley Road and Francisco Drive at the north end of El Dorado Hills.

King said Cascada offers something unique to the area.

“We have an upscale environment with high-end Latin-style food,” he said. “We offer plenty of seafood options as well.”

You will find enchiladas and quesadillas on the menu, but think beyond the burrito when heading out to Cascada.

Puerco con frambuesa, pork tenderloin medallions with a chipotle, raspberry sauce is one of the specials. A stuffed Salmon filet is also offered and is stuffed with spinach and crabmeat and served with capers, tomatoes, and a dill cream sauce, served with cilantro rice and fresh vegetables.

“What sets us apart is the upscale, yet relaxed, environment,” King said.

There is a full bar with an impressive wine list that boasts several wines from El Dorado County, such as Boeger, Madrona and Montoliva Bill and Linda Pfost made the drive in from Placerville Friday, not only to dine, but to visit King.

“We came just to see Eric,” Linda Pfost said. “We knew him fro Placerville.” We’ve been to both restaurants and the feeling here is really comfortable. It’s warm and inviting and the bar area is beautiful.”

The couple knows what’s good on the menu and Bill said the chile verde and the prime rib burger are “awesome.”

“You don’t think of a burger when you come here, but it is the best ever,” Bill Pfost said.

Mark Leclere, a general contractor and El Dorado Hills resident, has been eating at Cascada “since day one” six weeks ago.

“It’s good to have something like this on this end of town,” he said. “I live out here and I don’t always want to go to the other end of town. I’m a small business man and I like to support our local businesses.”

Tim Neill and his wife Casey enjoyed a late afternoon snack at the bar Friday.

“We’ve had to bood experiences here, so it’s consistent,” Casey Neill said. The couple lives within walking distance to the eatery.

“We were excited to see a family restaurant in the area,” she said.

Cascada is open daily and is located at 2222 Francisco Drive in El Dorado Hills.
