Lake Forest park opening delayed

Weather prevented some construction, new date not set

Due to the extreme wet weather, the grand opening of Lake Forest Park in El Dorado Hills, which was scheduled for April 9, has been delayed. A new date has not been scheduled at this time, according to officials. The park is complete except for the construction of a fire road on the north side of the property. The fire road is a necessary safety requirement needed to complete the permit process and allow public use of the park, officials said. Community Services District staff, Fire Department officials, and El Dorado County staff have been working together to ensure all agency and safety requirements have been met, according to a press release. Officials expect construction work to begin this week and be completed by the end of next week. Once the fire road is completed, county permits can be finalized. "We apologize for the delay, but until we can ensure emergency access into the park, we are unable to open the Park," a statement issued by the CSD reads. "We will provide a new Grand Opening date as soon as the construction can be scheduled." For more information, call (916) 933-6624. ~ Staff report
