In a repeat of the previous two games, Oak Ridge totally dominated its opponent on its way to winning the Trojan Shoot Out Tournament. El Dorado proved to be overmatched against the Lady Trojans, much like Pleasant Grove and Granite Bay did in the earlier rounds of the tournament. Oak Ridge jumped out to a 20-0 lead and never looked back in a 69-22 victory. The full-court trapping defense, used during the entire first half, did what it's supposed to do: create turnovers. El Dorado had many more turnovers than points in the first half and the score proved it. Oak Ridge led 42-4 at halftime and the Cougars' four points all came from the foul line. El Dorado didn't make a shot from the field until 2:31 into the second half. "Intensity-wise, we played 32 minutes and I'm proud of the team for that," Oak Ridge coach Steve White said. "Nobody gave up tonight defensively." Oak Ridge featured balanced scoring, as Sara James led the team with 13 and Kristina Williams chipped in 12. James was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, while Williams and Carly Bettencourt, who scored six points in the championship game, were all-tournament selections. Bettencourt made several steals and added a handful of assists in a solid all-around performance.
