Oak Ridge didn?t finish last week the way they hoped, but the Lady Trojans have a chance to cap off the season this week on a high note with games against Granite Bay and St. Francis. Two wins would land them second play in the league behind Granite Bay. Oak Ridge picked up easy wins over Bella Vista, 18-6 and Christian Brothers, 21-4, on Monday and Wednesday, respectively, but lost to Las Lomas on Friday, 16-7. As good as the two wins were the loss to Las Lomas was a downer. ?We were down 10-0 and I called my second timeout and leaned on them a bit,? Oak Ridge coach Ed Holton said. ?We outscored them the rest of the way, but we just started way too slow and couldn?t put anything together and didn?t play a full game.? Jordynn Wood scored three goals in the loss, while Maddy Hames found the back of the net twice. Bridget Hansen and Morgan Bakarich also scored, while Liz Shaeffer made 15 saves in goal. Bakarich scored six goals in the win over Christian Brothers, while Natalie Carrillo had one of her best games, according to Holton, with four goals. Wood and Hanson scored three, while Bridget Malone and Hames scored twice and Madisyn Hallare scored once. Bakarich and Wood both scored six goals in the win over Bella Vista. Hanson added three and Hames, Stefanie Polivka and Bailey Eastman all scored once. After playing Granite Bay on Tuesday, the Lady Trojans finish the season at home against St. Francis on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. ?We?re going to have to improve on our draw numbers and get that up to at least 50 percent,? Holton said. ?We?re also going to have to handle pressure better, decrease our turnovers and get a lot of shots on goal.?
