It doesn’t seem to matter what weight class Keaton Subjeck wrestles at as he’s earned two straight gold medals in two different weight classes. Subjeck, wrestling at 122 pounds at the Folsom Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, won his weight class, following a win in the 116-pound weight class at the El Dorado Hills Invitational the previous weekend. Both tournaments are Tournament of Champions qualifiers. Also competing at the tournaments at the varsity level and qualifying for the TOC were Ethan Staley and Zack Claiborne, who both placed second in their respective weight classes. Brandon Dishno and Taylor Beck also earned bronze medals and qualified for TOC. Ryan Johnson and Ian Coates also competed in the tournament and just missed out on qualifying. At the junior varsity level, Derrick Hensley won his weight classes, while Joshua Ferry took second and Michael Williamson finished third. All El Dorado Hills Wrestling Club members are boys who wrestle at the local junior high schools and have decided, along with their coach’s permission, to make a commitment to wrestle at the next level of training.
