Learn to play tennis and have fun with your friends. A junior tennis league is forming and is looking for novice boys and girls. The season starts on April 4. The tennis league will utilize the United States Tennis Association’s new breakthrough program QuickStart Tennis. The QuickStart Tennis format uses shorter tennis courts, shorter racquets and bigger balls. Similar to Little League, co-ed teams play against each other in two age divisions. Youth players with little or no tennis experience ages 8-14 are welcome. The Broadstone Racquet Club has been named as a host site of the new Junior Team Tennis League, run by the SCTA (Sacramento Community Tennis Association) a non-profit organization. The program is open to the public and club membership is not required. Volunteers, especially parents are needed to help this non-profit group as coaches and leaders of the teams. This program is sponsored and endorsed by the United States Tennis Association Northern California section. Sign up at www.quickscores.com/scta or come to registration night on Thursday from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Broadstone Racquet Club in Folsom. Matches are played for six weeks on Saturday afternoons. Registration closes on March 21. The first 50 kids to sign up will be given a free tennis racquet.
