FYBA offers basketball clinics to raise money for Haiti

The Folsom Youth Basketball Association (FYBA) is sponsoring a basketball clinic to help raise relief funds for those in Haiti who have been devastated by recent earthquakes in that country. The clinic will be held on Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Folsom Sports Complex, located at 66 Clarksville Rd. in Folsom. The first session will begin at 9 a.m. and subsequent sessions will be added as demand dictates. The clinic is open to boys and girls in 1st grade and above. Players will receive instruction from two different coaches during the hour-long clinic. The following are among the coaches who have agreed to participate: John Florance, assistant coach, Sacramento City College men, Sterling Forbes, coach, Folsom Force AAU (former Harlem Globetrotter player), Marvin Nakamoto, assistant coach, American River College women and Steve Williams, director, Sly Park Basketball School. The cost is $50 with all proceeds being donated to the American Red Cross. Payment may be made via cash or check made payable to the FYBA.
