Oak Ridge junior Kyran Bennett, 16, is a forward on the varsity soccer team and also wrestles. He’s the team’s leading scorer with 10 goals. Here’s some more information about him. How long have you played soccer? Since I was 4 years old, 12 years. What do you like best about soccer? The way I feel when I watch the ball leave my foot and go into the net. Is there anything you do before every game, any pre-game ritual? Stare at the goalie in order to know where I’m going to place the ball on every shot. What gives you a better feeling, scoring a big goal or pinning an opponent on the mat and why? Scoring a big goal because you’re able to rejoice with your teammates. Tell us One interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? Many people don’t know that I’m an atheist. If money were no factor, what kind of car would you want to own? My mom’s BMW. I love when she lets me drive it. What’s one life lesson you’ve learned from playing sports? The importance of cooperation and leadership. What is your favorite movie and why? Fight Club. The fighting is impressive and I love the twists. Besides soccer, what other hobbies do you have or what do you do in your spare time? I like watching The History Channel and hanging with my amigos, and watching Rocket Power when it’s on at four in the morning. What are your plans after high school? To attend college and either wrestle or play soccer, depending on the school. Who do you admire most and why? My family. They have the extraordinary ability to keep me going whenever I do not think I can. What is your favorite class in school and whY? AP English. I love the discussion and the teacher, Mr. Campbell. With Thanksgiving nearing, what are you thankful for? I am thankful that I will not be cutting weight this wrestling season. I love food.
