FOLSOM CA - The National Guard recently granted a special award to one of Folsom?s Micron Technology employees at a special event. On Monday, May 7, Micron manager Richard Iseger was presented with the Patriot Award. Kristoffer Berrien, a member of the National Guard who works at Micron and is under the supervision of Iseger, nominated his civilian boss for the recognition. Berrien believed Iseger ?exemplified the type of manager who freely supports an employee who also serves in the National Guard.? Iseger said he was shocked and had no idea he was going to receive this award. ?It made me feel grateful that Micron allows me to give Kris this flexibility to both work here and serve,? said Iseger. ?This award really allowed me to reflect on Kris?s level of commitment. He has a huge level of commitment to manage both the high demanding position at Micron and his commitment to the armed forces.? Berrien said it was well deserved. ?I?m so proud that they are giving this award to Richard,? Berrien said. ?He is an excellent supervisor and deserves this.? The National Guard also presented Micron with the Seven Seals award for its support of military team members. ?I want to thank Micron and all of its employees for the service you give,? said Troy Brimhall, employer outreach coordinator for Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve.
