Those with a green thumb can take a tour of a few of Folsom’s gardens at the Folsom Garden Club’s 13th annual Garden Tour.
Viewing for the self-guided tour is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, at six different gardens throughout Folsom.
Master Gardeners will be available at some locations to answer gardening questions, said event coordinators. There also will be a plant sale and bake sale on the tour.
The tour is the major fundraising event for the Folsom Garden Club which was founded in 1934 and now has more than 100 members.
According to event coordinators, the tour was launched in 2001 to raise money for city beautification projects and college scholarships for students majoring in horticulture related fields. Last year the club awarded four scholarships, totaling $3,500.
Tickets are $12 each in advance and $15 if purchased at the tour. Children 15 and under are free. The ticket includes a brochure with a map and descriptions of each garden. The tour will be held rain or shine with no refunds.
Tickets can be purchased online at the Folsom Garden Club website, folsomgarden.org, or at the following locations in Folsom: American River Ace Hardware, Bel Air Market, The Blossom Shop, Folsom History Museum; Grapes and Ivy and Green Acres Nursery. Tickets also are available at Green Valley Nursery in El Dorado Hills and Bushnell Nursery in Granite Bay.
