The Folsom Lake College men’s and women’s tennis teams continued their winning ways Tuesday in a home match at Broadstone Racquet Club, beating Diablo Valley College 5-4 and 9-0 respectively. Both teams now have a 2-0 record in Big 8 Conference play. Nik Tummala led the Falcon men, as he won his singles match 6-1, 6-3, and then teamed with Nick Lord to win at doubles, 6-0, 6-2. Perry Torres and Gary Peiffer were also double winners for the Falcons as both won singles in convincing fashion, 6-0, 6-0, then paired up to win their doubles 6-3, 6-3. The Falcon women managed to sweep the Vikings 9-0 despite not having the services of No. 1 player Lily Wong, who was resting a sore back. Skye Murray and Jordyn Germoles won their respective singles matches, then paired to win their No. 1 doubles match as well. Playing at No. 2 doubles, Katie DiSantos and Rozy Sain won their first collegiate tennis match. Golf The school’s men’s golf team had four players shoot in the 70s, but still lost to a tough Santa Rosa team, 380-389 in a non-conference match at Rancho Murieta Country Club. Drew Roberts and Tom Crowther led the team by shooting 76s, while Cole Zarecky carded a 77. Jake Kroeker finished with a 79 and Luke Ivazian rounded out the Falcons’ scoring with an 81.
