El Dorado Irrigation District house cleaning was needed

-A +A
Kudos to the Telegraph for a job well done in reporting about the latest reforms at El Dorado Irrigation District. The independent survey commissioned by EID’s board was “painstaking” in that it asked the tough questions and transparently quantified important issues. In addition to praising the organization for its sound fiscal and investment practices, and for numerous operational policies, it also gave us the irrefutable data we needed to minimize the debate and get more things done. Today, we have a new and incredibly talented general manager, Tom Gallier, who, with our support, has used the report to adjust management salaries, which will save EID and ratepayers $1.4 million. That is in addition to the millions already saved due to a higher credit rating on Wall Street and other reforms in recent years. Harry Norris EID Director, Division 5
