El Dorado Hills pharmacy filling prescriptions in new digs

EL DORADO HILLS CA - Fear not, the CVS Pharmacy in El Dorado Hills hasn?t closed, it just moved. The store had been located in the Town Center area next to Nugget market and some shoppers were surprised recently to find the store vacated. Helena Miller pulled up Thursday afternoon and looked a bit bewildered when she saw the store was vacant. ?Where did they go?? she said. ?I don?t think it was too long ago that I was shopping here.? She was informed the store simply moved down the street a few blocks. ?Well, at least they aren?t closed for good,? she said as she stepped back into her Honda Accord and headed off to the new location. Mike DeAngelis, director of public relations for CVS, said in a phone interview the move was simply good for customers. ?It was a relocation move from a shopping center to a freestanding location,? he said. ?We look for opportunities to move out of strip malls to locations that are more accessible to our customers.? The move to the new building occurred in May. ?Consumer shopping patterns have changed,? DeAngelis said. ?Once strip malls were preferred but since things have changed we?ve migrated to the corner to better serve our customers and we?ve been able to add a drive-through pharmacy.? Additionally, the store expanded its merchandise selection with more food offerings and larger health and beauty departments. The new look, larger store and ample parking seem to be a hit with customers. ?I didn?t really like the old one,? said Mary Jorgenson, of the Latrobe area. ?This one is so much cleaner and brighter.?
