The El Dorado Hills South Junior All-Stars face Lakeside today at 5:30 p.m. at Union Mine High School and a win would keep them alive in the District 54 All-Star Tournament. A loss to Lakeside would eliminate the team. The winner advances to Saturday’s game against Maidu. Game time is 4 p.m. The South All-Stars find themselves in this precarious position because of a 5-0 loss to Woodcreek on Monday. El Dorado Hills only had a pair of hits in the game, a double by Logan Marston and an infield single by Shane Austin. It’s obviously hard to win with only two hits. “Our bats went silent, as our hitters were tentative at the plate,” Manager Dean Paur said. “The Woodcreek pitcher threw hard and had command of his pitches.” Tanner Ales pitched six innings for the South, while Jake Gilger threw the seventh.
