EDH Community Services District sport offerings

The following are sports offerings from the El Dorado Hills Community Services District.

 

Youth Sports:

 

U.K. International Soccer Camp (ages 4-16):

The focus of this five-day camp is on building the fundaments of soccer, as well as improving existing skills. Beginning with 4 year olds, the camps progresses to more challenging skills and techniques, as the age groups advance up to 16 year olds. Skilled instructors teach participants fundamental skills to appreciate the game of soccer via fun drills and scrimmages. Camp runs from March 25 to March 29 at the CSD fields on El Dorado Hills Blvd. with half day (9 a.m. - noon) or full day (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) options to pick from. Children must be 8 or older to sign up for the full-day camps. Half-day camp fee is $127, while full day is $162. Call to register before the deadline of March 15. Summer camps will also be offered in June and July (more details to come closer to those dates – or call the CSD for specific). Players must have shin guards and cleats to participate.

 

Peewee soccer (ages 3-6):

Children learn the fundamentals of soccer by learning how to kick, trap, pass, shoot on goalie and how to be a goalie. This four-week camp meets on Thursdays from April 4 – April 25 at the Promontory Community Park Girls’ Softball Field. Parents can pick from 4 p.m. (3 year olds only) or 5 and 6 p.m. for ages 4-6. Fee is $57 and includes a T-shirt, snack and gift card from a sponsoring local vendor. Call the registration desk or go on line (www.edhcsd.org) to register before the March 29 deadline. Camp will close once maximum numbers reached, so don’t delay.

 

Peewee T-Ball (ages 3-6):

This four-week camp teaches children the correct way to catch, throw, run the bases and how to hit all while having fun in the process. Parents can pick from three different times beginning at 4 p.m. for 3 year olds (parent participation required) or 5 or 6 p.m. for ages 4-6. The camp is held on the Promontory Community Park Girls’ Softball field on Thursdays from May 9 to May 30 . Participation fee is $57 and includes T-shirt, snack and gift card from a sponsoring local vendor. Dodgeball (ages 7-13):

Participants are grouped by age for this four-week camp held at the CSD gym on Fridays from May 31 to June 21 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Children test their hand-eye coordination in this fast moving, fun yet safe sport which is growing in popularity. Camp fee is $49 and includes a camp T-shirt. Call the CSD at 933-6624 or go on line (www.edhcsd.org) to register before the deadline of May 24.

Volleyball camp (Coed Grades 5th – 8th)

New this year is the option to pick from a beginner or advanced camps. Advanced camp participants must have a minimum of two seasons non-club or one year club experience to sign up for the advanced session. All others fall under the beginner camp criteria. The instructor, Lisa Boyle, introduces drills and exercises to build new or expand on existing skills within each child to allow them to take their game to the next level. This camp meets Monday through Thursday from 9-11 a.m. for the beginner’s camp and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the advanced session. Camp is run at the Brooks Elementary School Gym from June 17 to June 20. Registration fee includes a camp T-shirt if signed up before the deadline of June 7. Registration fee is $75 for the beginner camp and $80 for the advanced camp (same dates and location, just different times).

 

Adult Sports

 

Adult 3x3 basketball:

Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top-four teams. Games are played at the Community Services District gymnasium on Wednesday evenings from May 15 to July 3 with a team fee of $150. Playoff winners earn championship T-shirts.

 

Adult 5x5 basketball:

Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top-four teams. Games are from April 21 to June 30 and played at the Community Services District gymnasium on Sunday evenings. Team fee is $410 with a deadline of April 12 to register (or when full). Championship T-shirts are awarded to the winning playoff team.

 

Adult coed soccer:

This coed 7-on-7 league plays on Wednesday nights at Promontory Community Park (synthetic field) from May 8 to June 26. Team fee is $597 per team with playoff winners earning championship T-shirts. If enough teams register, an upper and lower division will be created, otherwise a single league will be formed. Call before the registration desk before the deadline of April 26.

 

Adult softball League:

Select from multiple nights to play from the Tuesday coed league to Wed-Fri Men’s leagues. All games are played at the Promontory Community Park Softball Field in El Dorado Hills. Seven league games are followed by playoffs for the top-four teams in each league. Team fee is $452 which includes championship T-shirts for the winning team in each division. Summer league runs from early June to late July with a registration deadline of May 17 to sign up. Call the registration desk for more specifics.

 

Adult pick-up softball:

Monday night pick-up games are played each Monday for an eight-week season. Teams are formed each week and play nine innings under the lights at Promontory Community Park. Cost is only $20 per player for the entire eight-week season. Show up ready to play and sign in at the field. Adult open gym basketball:

Drop in any Monday or Thursday evening at the CSD gym from 8:15-10 p.m. for pick-up games. Fee is $4 per visit or buy a five-visit punch card for only $15.
