Eclipse ’96 wins El Dorado Shootout for third straight year

For the third year in a row the El Dorado United Competitive Club under-14 girls’ soccer team, Eclipse ’96, won the championship at the El Dorado Shootout Tournament hosted by EDUCC at Cherry Island. They won their first game 7-0 against the Folsom Freedom, but then lost to the Dublin Tri-Valley, 2-1. In the semifinals, the Eclipse tied the Rage Academy IMPACT, but then advanced by winning in penalty kicks, thanks to strong play by keeper Riley Riordan. The championship game against Dublin Tri-Valley went to penalty kicks again after the teams ended in a 1-1 tie, and once again, the Eclipse came through to win the game and the tournament for the second straight year. Members of the team include Brittany Oliver, Brittany Gisin, Allison Pepper, Riley Riordan, Anisa Brosamle, Jen Lawson, Alivya Wimmer, Elyse Douglas, Jenna Ogden, Samantha Buchanan, Olivia Frace, Sarah Quintero, Madison Campos and Marissa Ribeiro.
