The El Dorado Hills Community Services District recently rolled out its 2011 Winter/Spring activity guide that offers plenty of options for those looking to expand their horizons. Dozens of classes and sports programs make up the impressive activity guide, which evenly caters to youth, adults and seniors. There are also single event specials that include the “Daddy and Me Valentine’s Dance” on February 11 and the “Spring Skateboard Competition” on April 19. You also won’t want to miss the “Spring Egg Hunt” featuring an appearance by the Easter Bunny. That’s set at 10 a.m. on April 23. For young people (even toddlers), programs include musical math classes and baby signing time, “Play and Sign.” Sports for youth include the usual and other specials include baton twirling, chess and cooking. For adults, you’ll definitely find softball and basketball, but there are also great classes that will teach you how to prepare sushi and use that digital camera you got for Christmas. The fitness schedule is also extensive, featuring courses in yogi and Tai Chi. Seniors will be able to choose from their favorites, which include sewing, bridge and even guitar lessons. You can also learn CPR from accredited instructors. “I think it’s wonderful that they offer such great classes for the community,” said resident Ann McCabe. “I can’t wait to take a look at the schedule myself.” If you’re interested in checking out the activity guide or registering for a class or activity, visit www.edhcsd.org or call (916) 933-6624.
