To help educate and raise awareness of the dangers associated with pornography, Rolling Hills Church in El Dorado Hills is hosting two seminars that focus on the “Danger of the Internet for Parents and pornography Addiction for Men.” “These seminars challenge the notion that pornography is not dangerous,” said Jake Larson, associate pastor at Rolling Hills. “By providing hope, satisfaction and healing, we can help change the sexually intoxicated nature of our culture and show that life can be lived with a purpose beyond personal gratification.” More than 40 million adults visit pornographic websites daily, and 9 out of 10 children between the ages of 8 and 16 have viewed pornography online with more than half of their parents not being aware of it, according to published statistics. The seminars will feature special guests Craig Gross, the founder of XXXchurch.com and author of several books including “The Gutter,” “Jesus Loves Me This I Know” and “The Dirty Little Secret.” Gross will be joined by comedian David Dean as the church spotlights the issues of porn and its effects on family. The Nov. 11 parenting seminar is to focus on issues children face when accessing the Internet, social media sites, “sexting” and chat rooms. Sexting is the sending of sexually explicit messages or photographs, primarily between mobile phones. The seminar will provide parents with tools to help protect their children, according to Larson. A men’s breakfast is set for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 12 and will focus on pornography addiction. * * * KNOW AND GO What: Perils of Pornography Seminar When: 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 11, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 12 Where: Rolling Hills Church, 800 White Rock Road, El Dorado Hills Tickets: $10 online at rollhillchurch.com
