John Lee Hooker Jr., a two-time Grammy award nominee, takes the stage Nov. 12 for the second Blues and Brews in El Dorado Hills. Opening the show will be The Used Blues Band. The event, running from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Pavilion at 1021 Harvard Way, is a fundraiser put on by the Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills to benefit the Veterans Memorial project. Tickets are $25 available at the California Welcome Center in El Dorado Hills Town Center or at edhblues.com. The memorial will contain a garden, a gathering area with stage, custom-crafted monuments and a “100 Year Journey” where, along a winding path, visitors will pass exhibits representing 100 years of United States’ conflict history, from World War I through the present day. The land for the memorial has been donated by the El Dorado Hills Community Services District. Beer, wine and food will be available for purchase. Visit edhblues.com for more information.
