FOLSOM CA - A new barbeque joint is up and running in Folsom for those who enjoy slow smoked grub. Dickey?s Barbecue Pit opened with a soft opening in Folsom, Thursday, May 24, at 1016 Riley St., Suite 4 and 5. The first 100 customers received a free pulled pork big barbecue sandwich. The family owned and operated restaurant is run by Raymond Snook, his wife Ann and their two children, Grace and Joel. The Snook family is originally from England and moved to California 10 years ago. Grace worked for Dickey?s and enjoyed the concept and food so much that when it came time for the family to choose a franchise there was no question, it had to be Dickey?s. ?This is our first Dickey?s restaurant,? Ann said. ?We are so thrilled to have it up and running.? Many Folsom residents were also thrilled to have a new and fast moving barbeque eatery in their own backyard. ?I think this will be a great place for Folsom,? said Keith Wood, with Wood Family Dentistry and Orthodontics in Folsom. ?We really needed something like this. I love barbeque and we don?t have anything like this in town.? Folsom?s Tabitha and Nathon Seger brought their 2-year-old daughter Allye to Dickey?s on Thursday and were impressed with the Texas style brisket sandwich. ?There is not anything like this in town,? Nathon said. ?There are not a whole lot of barbeque joints here in town, so this is a good addition for us. This is good quality, tasty food.?
