Apple Hill cottage the perfect getaway
By: Eric Laughlin Telegraph Correspondent
Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or a professional looking for a cozy mountain getaway, 3967 Roosevelt Ave. in Camino could be just the right fit. This cottage-style home is located in the heart of Apple Hill and within easy walking distance to downtown Camino. The home was built in 1939 by the Crystal Family, for which Crystal Basin was named. The home was lived in by the family’s grandmother for more than eight decades before being purchased by investors. At the front of the home is a family/living area, which leads into a renovated kitchen, complete with granite countertops, new cabinets and laminate flooring. New carpeting throughout the rest of the home was installed in October. There are two bedrooms, divided by a completely re-done bathroom. “This house really has been remodeled from head to toe,” said Realtor Jesse Crawford. “Not only is the carpet brand new, but the roof and double pane vinyl windows are no more than two years old. That makes a big difference in the winter.” And when the mercury drops during those cold months, you’ll be comfortable with the new gas furnace, which doesn’t take long to get the whole home warm. Other new fixtures include plumbing and tile, and the house is plumbed for natural gas. Pets will also feel right at home as there is a nice fenced front yard and dog run on the side of the house. On the other side is a driveway leading up to a single car garage, which can be accessed from the kitchen. There is also uncovered parking, along with RV access. Crawford said other perks give the home a unique sense of community. “There’s actually a gate through the back fence that leads to a bridge over an EID canal,” he said. “From there you’re within steps of the post office and the rest of downtown. It makes it nice when you don’t have to walk around the block if you don’t want to.” He added that the home lies within the Camino and El Dorado High School districts. “This is a great investment for first-time buyers,” he said. “With the asking price and the current tax incentives out there right now, you’re going to have monthly payments that pretty much amount to what it would cost to rent the place.” If you’d like more information or are interested in touring the home, call Jesse Crawford at (916) 296-4233 or visit him online at teamcrawfordrealtors.com. If you’re in the area and would like to drive through the neighborhood, it can be accessed from Carson and Snows roads. The current listing price is $179,000.
